Grant funding through the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration will go to build a new cemetery in the state while expanding another.
According to the NCA, $18 million will go towards establishing a new state veterans cemetery in northern Huntsville. Another $283,200 will fund the expansion of the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort.
