They then made eight selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. Yet, Mike Borgonzi’s roster is still far from perfect. Borgonzi is overseeing a multi-year, in-progress rebuild after inheriting a disastrous roster due to the end of Jon Robinson’s tenure, and Ran Carthon’s entire tenure.
The Titans have addressed a ton of needs since Borgonzi took over. They believe they’ve found a franchise quarterback in Cam Ward. They’ve improved the overall state of the wide receiver position by adding Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson this offseason, and Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor last year.
Despite all the activity, there are still positions that are concerning due to a lack of NFL-quality depth. Injuries at these positions could threaten to derail the Titans’ season. We’ve identified two in particular that Borgonzi should further address this offseason.
Swing offensive tackle
It’s tough to find quality backup offensive line play. Last year, the Titans had a very decent swing offensive tackle in Oli Udoh. Udoh occasionally played in relief of both JC Latham and Dan Moore. He joined the Arizona Cardinals in free agency and the Titans did not adequately replace him.
The Titans signed veteran tackle Austin Deculus. He was part of the backup offensive line that nearly got Justin Herbert killed last season. Pro Football Focus credited Deculus with a 33.1 pass blocking grade. Borgonzi also didn’t draft an offensive tackle. Notre Dame’s Aamil Wagner and Louisville’s Rasheed Miller are signing as UDFAs. Sophomore Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson may be the current favorite to win the swing job.
Cornerback depth
The Titans spent about $115 million on totally revamping their cornerback room. Free-agent signings Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott are the new boundary starters. Marcus Harris appears primed to return as the starting nickel, and Joshua Williams was also signed to provide depth.
One injury to this group and the starting lineup becomes concerning. That really highlights what a poor state this position was in. If Flott got hurt, perhaps Taylor would kick to nickel and Williams, who was with Borgonzi in KC, would start outside. Micah Robinson, who ended 2025 on the 53-man roster, is probably the fifth cornerback right now with inside-outside versatility. A slew of undrafted free-agent cornerbacks will be at minicamp.
