80-year-old Vietnam veteran dies after being stabbed at his Alabama home

A Vietnam veteran known for sitting at his porch and waving to neighbors has died after being stabbed earlier this month.

J.W. McElrath, 80, died Thursday night at UAB Hospital, according to Talladega Coroner Shaddix Murphy.
