Taking a plunge in a natural swimming hole has always been one of the joys of summer. There are plenty of swimming spots in Alabama, many of which are free to access. In some cases, you may have to pay a national or state park entry fee for your car. Even so, that’s a bargain compared to water and amusement parks.
Here are a few swimming holes that are a little off the beaten path and some that are more commonly known. (Please be sure to check out all safety precautions and warnings in the links provided. The following places are known for swimming, not jumping or diving.)
