It’s going to be a big week of college football at Alabama A&M. AAMU (2-1, 5-2) will host Grambling State (2-1, 4-2) on Saturday, Oct. 17. The kickoff is set for 3 p.m. This is a Homecoming game for the Bulldogs. In addition, Grambling State is one of the best teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, coming off victories over Alcorn State and Jackson State.

The Bulldogs have been playing some good football as well. AAMU has benefited from a terrific running game. The Bulldogs’ ground attack is led by running back Byron Perrilliat, who keeps the offense moving with his running skills. Perrilliat has 55 carries for 389 yards with four touchdowns this season. He’s also averaging 7.1 yards a carry. The running game could play a key role in the matchup with Grambling State.

The kickoff will be at 2 p.m. The Hornets are looking to snap a two-game losing streak. ASU running back Jamarie Hostzclaw continues to provide a solid rushing game. In the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Miles College (3-2, 3-4) will be off this week. The Golden Bears will return to action against Central State on Saturday, Oct. 24 at home.

Elsewhere in the SIAC, Tuskegee University (2-2, 2-4) will entertain Albany State (3-1, 3-3) on Saturday, Oct. 17. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. Defensive lineman Masiah Wells is one of the Golden Tigers’ top defensive players. Wells has 36 total and 17 solo tackles and one sack this season.
