Alabama bill requiring Ten Commandments in schools passes: Democrat warns against ‘romanticizing’ history

The Alabama Legislature gave final passage Thursday to a bill to require public schools to post the Ten Commandments.

SB99 by Sen. Keith Kelley, R-Gadsden and Rep. Mark Gidley, R-Hokes Bluff, would require schools to post the commandments in a common area and in history classrooms in grades 5-12.
