Alabama’s commercial construction industry has generated $20.1 billion in total economic output and supports 223,000 full-time jobs across the state in recent years, according to an updated economic impact study released Wednesday by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama.
The study found the industry produced an earnings impact of $13.5 billion and represents 4.7% of Alabama’s gross domestic product.
