Alabama could make major changes to the way students learn new languages

A committee of experts recommended changes to the way Alabama teaches languages, including expanding the number of languages taught and shaking up the way students learn.

The Alabama State Board of Education heard a presentation on proposed revisions to the state’s world languages course of study at its June work session. The revisions are intended to strengthen student readiness for college, careers and the military.
