The Republican caucus in the Alabama House of Representatives has removed a veteran member from its ranks, citing the need for the group to keep what happens in its meetings private.
Rep. Arnold Mooney of Shelby County, first elected to the House in 2014, has been ousted from the caucus, which holds 76 of the 105 seats in the House.
