The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs hopes to finish repairs to the state’s newest veterans home, which was damaged by a fire, in time to have residents return in mid- to late-September.
The blaze struck the Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home in Enterprise in April, about seven months after it opened.
