A Decatur police officer is currently under investigation by his department and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency due to alleged misuse of the automated license plate reader system.
In a statement, the Decatur Police Department said it became aware of alleged misuse of the system on June 12 and launched an internal affairs investigation.
