Alabama ranks 40th in per-student spending, Census data shows

Alabama spent more per student in 2024 than in 2023, but the state still trails much of the nation.

Alabama ranked 40th among states in spending per student in 2024, according to the Annual Survey of School System Finances by the U.S. Census Bureau.
