Alabama’s back-to-school sales tax holiday: What is exempt? Which cities participate?

Alabama’s 21st annual sales tax holiday for back-to-school purchases begins Friday and goes through Sunday.

Retailers will not collect the state’s 4% sales tax on eligible clothes, school supplies, computers, and books.
