Alabama third grade reading scores are in. How did your district fare?

Alabama’s third grade reading scores held steady this year, with nearly 90% of students meeting the state benchmark on the spring literacy test.

More than 54,000 Alabama public school third graders took part in the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program’s spring reading test for the 2025-26 school year, with about 88.2% of students scoring at or above the reading benchmark score of 444.
