Alabama will use cameras to ticket speeding drivers in highway work zones: What to know

Gov. Kay Ivey on Tuesday signed into law a bill to set up a pilot program to catch speeders in highway construction zones with automated cameras.

According to the governor’s office, there were 2,543 crashes in highway work zones and approximately 11 fatalities and 709 injuries in Alabama last year.
