Allen Brown II’s “Aubrey’s Magic Alley” made its Los Angeles stage debut Aug. 20, bringing together a multicultural cast for a family production about a young girl in foster care who finds possibility through music and imagination.
Presented by Brown’s LLOID Media in collaboration with B MikeRob Entertainment, MVPR and D.Good Publicity, the production combined dramatic storytelling with breaking, popping, locking, live vocals, sports demonstrations and martial arts.
According to the production’s announcement, the debut received a standing ovation. Its cast was led by Le Gianna Tran, Zen Luong and Seven-John Singleton, with a story designed to encourage conversations about resilience, opportunity and the importance of supportive communities.
A Young Girl Finds Her Voice Through Imagination
At the center of “Aubrey’s Magic Alley” is Aubrey, played by K-pop artist and actress Le Gianna Tran. A young person in foster care, Aubrey finds a supportive home that encourages her dreams of becoming a singer and rapper.
After receiving a microphone from her social worker, she uses music and imagination to enter a magical world as she processes past trauma. The story follows her search for confidence and belonging while exploring how encouragement can help a child begin to envision a different future.
Aubrey’s journey intersects with that of Det, a girl from a group home played by Zoetry Luong, who becomes “The Detective” within the magical setting. When the two go missing, a news anchor played by Singleton reports on their mysterious whereabouts.
The premise gives the production a way to address difficult experiences through a story families can watch together. Its themes include friendship, perseverance, and the role adults and peers can play in helping young people feel supported.
Music, Movement and a Multicultural Cast
Brown, who wrote and directed the stage production, brought several performance disciplines into the storytelling. Dance, live singing and martial arts appeared alongside dramatic scenes, allowing the ensemble to contribute different skills to the production.
Zen Luong portrayed Positiveman, a character built around optimism and encouragement. Seven-John Singleton appeared as Brain Matthews, whose role emphasized intelligence, teamwork, and perseverance.

The ensemble also included characters ranging from a foster mother and social worker to figures within Aubrey’s imagined world. That mix connected the practical support surrounding the young protagonist with the creativity she uses to understand her experiences.

Community Support Behind the Production
The production’s community focus extended to the partnerships supporting its debut. Organizers credited sponsors and community partners with contributing support and creative activities, alongside the work of LLOID Media and B MikeRob Entertainment.
Brown’s stated aim was to create family entertainment in which children from different communities could see themselves represented. With a foster youth at the center of the story, “Aubrey’s Magic Alley” places that intention within its narrative rather than limiting it to the composition of its cast.
The project’s broader plans include a comic book series and a proposed animated television expansion, according to the production materials. The live show introduces those themes through performers sharing a stage with the families the story is intended to reach.
Viewers can watch the production recap and see the FOX 11 interview for more about the project.
