Bally Baby Talks Atlanta’s New Wave, Evolving Music Scene, & More With Big Bank and DJ Scream

1 month ago 23

Atlanta rapper Bally Baby recently linked with Big Bank and DJ Scream alongside artists Champ1K and Lil Cory for a wide-ranging conversation about music, culture and the realities that come with pursuing a career as an artist. Bally Baby made an appearance on an episode of Revolt’s Big Facts podcast, where he also discussed what it’s like to be part of Atlanta’s evolving music scene.

During the conversation, the group weighs in on everything from trends they can’t get behind to what qualifies as “fine s**t.” But beyond the lighter debates, Bally and the crew also get into the current wave of Atlanta music and some of the challenges artists face while trying to establish themselves.

The conversation comes at an especially fitting time for Bally Baby, who has spent more than a decade developing his sound and is now seeing that work translate into growing momentum.

Thirteen years into his journey, the Atlanta native has built his music around his real-life experiences, pairing melodic flows with stories rooted in the hustle and environment that shaped him. That consistency has helped Bally emerge as part of a new generation carrying Atlanta rap forward while still remaining connected to the city’s musical foundation.

Bally has also been putting numbers behind the buzz. He has surpassed 106 million all-time streams and is currently generating more than 4 million streams per week across platforms.

His recent run includes the deluxe project Baby Drank [Refill], which features Rio Da Yung OG, Raq Baby, Fox BD, BLO, Belly Gang Kushington and more. The project reached the Top 10 on Apple Music’s Hip-Hop chart, while several of Bally’s records have landed within Atlanta’s Top 25.

One of those records, “Hustlin Mf” featuring Belly Gang Kushington, has become a standout in Atlanta clubs and helped fuel Bally’s growing hometown presence. In July, he translated that momentum to the stage by selling out Center Stage ATL for his first official headline show.

He followed that milestone with D-Boy Knots & Soul Ties, a new two-pack accompanied by the official visual for “Soul Ties.” The release adds another chapter to a year that has also seen Bally earn support from Lil Baby and connect with names including Playboi Carti and Ken Carson.

His appearance with Big Bank and DJ Scream also highlights another part of an artist’s development: having DJs involved in the process. During the discussion, the artists speak about the benefits of working with a DJ, their individual goals and what it takes to keep making music despite the challenges that come with the industry.

For Bally Baby, these type of conversations reflect a career that has been years in the making. As Atlanta continues introducing new voices and sounds, he’s positioning himself as an artist who understands both the city’s history and where its next generation could be headed.
