Birmingham city officials have released new details about two jail deaths that happened three days apart.
The first death, which happened at the Birmingham City Jail on Thursday, stemmed from a self-harm act, and the second one on Sunday also followed a self-harm incident, Birmingham Deputy Chief of Public Safety Carlton Peeples said in a statement released Monday evening.
