Birmingham is investing $200,000 in youth services and violence prevention

The city of Birmingham is awarding $200,000 in microgrants to 14 local organizations working to prevent crime through youth intervention and family services.

The grants, funded through the U.S. Department of Justice Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative, will help to expand violence prevention services connected to the RESTORE program, which is operated by the Jefferson County Family Resource Center.
