Birmingham teen could be freed from jail in botched robbery that ended with friend’s death

A Birmingham teen charged in the death of his friend while authorities say the pair was committing a robbery has been granted bond.

Jefferson County Judge Tanita Cain set bond for 18-year-old Mikel Ramone Thomas at $210,000 following an Aniah’s Law hearing held last week, according to court records.
