A black bear was euthanized Sunday afternoon after it was hit by a car near the intersection of Highway 14 and Firetower Road just outside of Wetumpka city limits, according to Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin.
Franklin told AL.com Sunday that an official from the fish and game department, an Elmore County investigator and a deputy responded to the scene after receiving a report that someone had hit “what appeared to be a small to medium sized bear.”
