Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart Jr. announced that Costco’s site clearing is set to begin within the next two weeks and blasting is expected to begin mid-August.
Ahead of construction, Stewart hosted a meeting on Monday evening for more than 100 residents and businesses located within 1,500 feet of the Costco development blast zone. Project leaders discussed what to expect as construction moves forward and addressed safety concerns, according to Stewart.
