Britt questions DOT on long-awaited $1.2 billion interstate, ‘critical’ Gulf Coast bridge

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala. questioned Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy about Alabama infrastructure projects and manufacturing policy during a Senate subcommittee hearing reviewing the president’s fiscal year 2027 DOT budget request.

Britt, who serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, pressed Duffy on multiple state priorities during the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Subcommittee hearing, receiving commitments on continued federal support for major projects.
