Chet Moeller, a College Football Hall of Famer who lives in Montgomery, is suing the NCAA over health problems he says resulted from concussions incurred during his playing career at Navy in the early 1970s.
Moeller, who is 73, filed a 60-page complaint Friday in Montgomery County, along with his wife, Jennifer, charging the NCAA with “negligence, gross negligence, and fraudulent concealment” regarding its treatment of concussions. According to the suit, Moeller “suffers from latent, pathological, and debilitating symptoms that arose from unrecognized and untreated concussive and sub-concussive head impacts in college football. Those symptoms primarily take the form of mood swings, anger, cognitive trouble, and confusion.”
