Dear Abby: Mother worries about adult children who blame her for their struggles

2 hours ago 1

Dear Abby: I am a woman over 60, happily married with two young adult kids. Like many young adults today, they are struggling to find their way and carry a lot of emotional stress. On more than one occasion, they have blamed their father and me for their turmoil. They don’t seem to know how to build their lives or to want any advice from us. It breaks my heart. I don’t know how to help them, and I don’t know how to get past the feeling that somewhere along the way I may have let them down and failed as a mother to help them find their way. What can I do?
