A federal appeals court has granted has overturned an injunction against the NCAA by athletes looking to gain an extra year of eligibility in 2026.
A Colorado judge on July 31 had issued a blanket ruling to all Class of 2022 high school graduates, granting eligibility for 2026 under the NCAA’s new “five to play five” rule. The NCAA’s original rule excluded those athletes whose eligibility expired during the 2025-26 academic year.
