Flash flood warning active for Central Alabama until Wednesday night triggered by thunderstorms

On Wednesday at 6:08 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in effect until 9:15 p.m. for Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, Macon and Montgomery counties.

"At 6:08 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," describes the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
