Florida kidnapping suspect shoots self during police standoff at Alabama cabin

A domestic kidnapping suspect from Florida shot himself as law enforcement officers surrounded an Alabama home.

Covington County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 2:30 p.m. Sunday to a domestic dispute involving a victim who later told authorities she had been taken against her will from the Paxton area in Florida.
