Former South Alabama basketball guard John Broom is headed to Vermont, he announced Thursday.
Broom, a two-time state champion at Jacksonville High School, played in 63 games with 34 starts for the Jaguars the last two seasons, averaging 3.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals. He was a preseason third-team All-Sun Belt pick prior to 2025-26, but an offseason illness caused him to lose more than 20 pounds and cut into his minutes and effectiveness for much of the season.
