Henrietta Dunmore has spent a lifetime rebuilding. Now, the entrepreneur behind Dunmore Financial Enterprise is taking another leap of faith and entering the automotive industry with her newest venture, Wise Up N Shine.
There are entrepreneurs who build businesses because they see an opportunity, and then there are entrepreneurs whose entire lives have prepared them to create one. For Henrietta Dunmore, entrepreneurship has always represented something bigger than a title. It represents freedom, stability, ownership and the ability to create a future that looks nothing like the circumstances she came from.
Now, after establishing herself in the financial services space through Dunmore Financial Enterprise, Dunmore is stepping into an entirely different arena with the launch of Wise Up N Shine, a woma
For entrepreneur Henrietta Dunmore, opening Wise Up N Shine isn’t simply about launching another business. It’s about taking a leap of faith, entering a new industry and continuing a journey built on resilience and reinvention.
Long before becoming the entrepreneur behind Dunmore Financials, Dunmore experienced a life filled with challenges. She spent portions of her childhood in foster and group homes and has worn hearing aids since the first grade after experiencing significant hearing loss. Those early experiences came with bullying, instability and moments that forced her to learn how to rebuild at a young age. Years later, Dunmore would find herself rebuilding again.
In 2016, while experiencing severe financial hardship and living in a shelter, Dunmore worked three jobs while teaching herself financial literacy and learning how credit worked. According to Dunmore, within 45 days she raised her credit score to 760, eventually helping her secure permanent housing, purchase a vehicle and begin creating a stronger financial foundation.
What began as a personal mission eventually became a business and Dunmore began helping others understand credit and financial literacy before building Dunmore Financials, where her entrepreneurial journey expanded into a multi million financial and tax-related services. Now, she’s betting on herself in an entirely different industry.
With Wise Up N Shine Mobile Detailing, Dunmore is bringing a new approach to automotive care in the Bay Area. The woman-owned and woman-led company will offer luxury mobile detailing alongside 24/7 tire and roadside assistance but Dunmore’s vision extends beyond cars.
Wise Up N Shine was created as a space where automotive care, culture and creativity intersect. Customers will be able to enjoy coffee, gaming and sports entertainment while their vehicles are serviced. The location will also welcome content creators looking for a space to create and stream, while independent and emerging artists will have opportunities to showcase their talents through Wise Up Spotlight, the company’s official “Mic Drop” performance concept.
For Dunmore, entering the automotive industry represents another opportunity to step outside of what is familiar and trust her vision. Building Wise Up N Shine hasn’t come without challenges. The process has brought setbacks, financial losses and moments that tested her personally and professionally, but she continued pushing forward.
Henrietta’s journey serves as a reminder that entrepreneurship doesn’t always follow a straight path. Sometimes growth means being willing to start over, enter a completely different industry and build something people may not immediately understand.
As Wise Up N Shine prepares to officially open its doors in San Rafael next month, Dunmore isn’t just entering the automotive business, she’s creating another chapter on her own terms and taking a leap of faith on what could come next.
