Gas prices for 09/24/26: Average price up nearly 40 cents in the last month, 1 state up 65 cents

The average price of gasoline has jumped nearly 40 cents nationwide over the last month, according to AAA. As of Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, the average price for unleaded fuel is $4.482, a 9.35% increase from the average of $4.099 one month ago.
