With how quarterback Deshaun Watson’s tenure with the Browns has been a disaster, a lot of fans just want to be done with him already. Over the past year, there have been groans when his workout/rehab videos come out, as many think, “surely he won’t actually see reps in a Cleveland uniform again, right?”
Then came the disaster of a quarterback situation last year. Eventually, Shedeur Sanders got his time to shine. Even though there were a lot of flaws he needs to work on, he showed some of the tools to make one think, “Maybe, just maybe, he could be a starting quarterback in the future.”
With new head coach Todd Monken in charge, there was some degree of excitement on what he could do with Sanders, but we also know it’s not a guarantee he’ll be the starter. Lingering in the back of our minds was, “Is there a chance that Monken will want to see what he can do with Watson, before the team officially moves on from him?”
This week at the league meetings, the Watson talk heated up quite a bit. What report already indicates that Watson could be the frontrunner. Jimmy Haslam also said that Watson essentially gets a “fresh start” with Monken as the head coach. Fans have already been debating the issue in the comments, but now let’s put it to a vote.
NOTE the important distinction in the question below. We’re not asking you who you want to start for the Browns. We’re saying who you think the team will end up choosing to start in Week 1.
