Giving Alabama boards of trustees power over tenure, curriculum will ‘destroy academic freedom,’ critics say

Alabama legislators are advancing a bill that would hand more control over faculty senate, curriculum and tenure to universities’ boards of trustees.

University of Alabama faculty told AL.com they don’t support the bill because they say it will weaken the limited power faculty senate groups have and diminish the quality of education.
