GOP congressional leaders back off shutdown demand to fund ICE with Democrats’ help

The Republican leaders of the House and Senate said Wednesday they are abandoning their demand to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security without the Democrats’ help in an attempt to end the nearly 50-day partial federal government shutdown.
