Gov. Kay Ivey has signed into law a bill to expand the Alabama Public Service Commission from three members to seven and make other changes to the utility regulatory agency.
The Legislature passed the bill on Wednesday, the final product after several proposed reforms to the PSC that sponsors said would help control electricity rates, which are higher in Alabama than most southeastern states.
