After new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos in exchange for 2026 NFL Draft picks, plenty of folks around the league wondered if running back De’Von Achane would be the next Miami Dolphins player to be sent packing in an effort to strengthen Miami’s war-chest of draft selections for this year’s selection process.

Speaking with Kay Adams today on the Up & Adams Show, Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley gave a strong indication that Achane isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I don’t know about [trading Achane]. We’ll save that for another day, but I’ve got a good feeling he’s going to be around.

Of course, NFL head coaches are prone to little white lies every now and then, and Hafley wouldn’t be the first coach to say a player wasn’t going to be traded only for that same player to be dealt soon after. However, the way Miami’s coach chuckled while answering Adams’ question leads this writer to believe that he’s telling the truth in regards to Achane’s future in South Florida.
