Jefferson and Shelby counties placed under a flood advisory until 1 a.m. Thursday caused by significant rain

A flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 10:11 p.m. in effect until Thursday at 1:15 a.m. for Jefferson and Shelby counties.

The weather service informs, "Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected."
