Lost a pet? Here’s what Homewood residents need to know about animal control changes

Homewood residents dealing with stray animals, lost pets or wildlife concerns will need to follow new procedures after the city recently partnered with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.

The City of Homewood, Homewood Police Department and Homewood Animal Control have partnered with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society to provide services related to stray animals. Under the new arrangement, stray animals picked up in Homewood will be taken to the humane society rather than being housed by the city.
