A 35-year-old man drowned Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Cahaba Blueway Moon River Canoe Launch on U.S. 78 on the border of Irondale and Leeds.

A 35-year-old man who drowned Sunday afternoon in the Cahaba River was trying to rescue children from the water, authorities said.
