Miss Manners: Is wearing a white shirt under a suit inappropriate for weddings?

Dear Miss Manners: There was a social media post about a woman who wore a black three-piece suit, with a white shirt, to her brother’s wedding. The bride, groom and bridesmaids treated the woman rudely, stating that it was because she was wearing a white shirt, which was inexcusable.
