A new wave of South African artists is stepping onto the global stage, and genre-bending creative Money Badoo is leading the charge. The artist has returned with her boldest and most globally resonant release yet, the single ‘RUDEBOI,’ which dropped on April 17th via Paradise Sound System. The track serves as the first taste of her highly anticipated EP, 4PLAY, which lands on June 5, 2026.
A Berlin-Created Anthem of Evolution
‘RUDEBOI’ transcends a typical release; it is described as a snapshot of transformation. The single was created in Berlin during Money Badoo’s first visit to the city in 2025 and was developed alongside Berlin-based producer Lisa Kida. It captures the energy and new perspectives that emerge when different worlds collide, inspiring a fearless embrace of self.
According to Money Badoo, ‘RUDEBOI’ is “an ode to Rihanna,” drawing inspiration from her sound, confidence, and unapologetic energy. The track is a “fun one” that celebrates being loved everywhere, finding your people, and the drive of “working hard and getting to the money”. The artist noted that Berlin “gave me permission to be louder, softer, more experimental, all at once,” making ‘RUDEBOI’ the sound of shedding self-doubt and existing fully in the moment.
