Myles Smith unveils new single “Hold Me In The Dark”

Globally rising British singer-songwriter Myles Smith unveils a new song, “Hold Me In The Dark,” from his much-anticipated debut album My Mess, My Heart, My Life. Listen/share the song HERE.

“Hold Me In The Dark came from a really honest place,” says Smith. “From feeling stuck in my own thoughts and not knowing how to get out of it. Strangely, it takes me back to my first pair of headphones as a kid. I used to put them on to block out the shouting and the chaos at home, and in a weird way, they became a kind of escape for me. I didn’t have many friends growing up because we moved around a lot, so music became one of the first places I ever felt safe. It’s that push and pull between trying to run from things and realising that sometimes you just need something or someone there with you. It’s not about fixing everything, it’s about not being alone in it.”

Smith is set to appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live UK on Saturday, May 9. He will perform on the penultimate episode of the inaugural season, which is hosted by actress Hannah Waddingham.

His first complete body of work arrives after the beloved hit song “Stargazing” became the biggest song by a U.K. artist worldwide in 2024—skyrocketing his career and introducing his music to audiences around the world. “Nice To Meet You” made Smith the first male solo artist to reach #1 at both Alternative and Top 40 radio with his first two singles, as he reached over a billion streams before ever releasing a full-length record. The album is set for release on June 19 via Sony Music UK/RCA Records.

Known for emotionally direct songwriting and a rich vocal delivery, Smith has built his following by turning personal experiences into songs that connect far beyond their origins. His debut album explores emotional chaos, vulnerability and the sense of release that comes with confronting life head-on, unfolding across three interconnected worlds: Mess, Heart, and Life.

In addition to “Hold Me In The Dark,” the record features several of Smith’s most recognized recent hits, including “Stargazing,” “Nice To Meet You,” the reflective duet with Niall Horan “Drive Safe,” the uplifting anthem “Gold,” and the euphoric “Stay (If You Wanna Dance).”

“This album is the most honest thing I’ve ever made,” says Smith. “The title really says it all—it’s about the mess, the heart and the life that sits around it. Smith songs come from moments I never thought I’d share. Nights that felt endless, mornings that felt like starting over, memories that will always stay with me.”

Smith will support the album with his biggest headline tour to date across North America, Europe and the UK. With multiple UK arena dates already nearly sold out, the run will culminate in a landmark London show at The O2. He will also support Ed Sheeran on the North American leg of his forthcoming LOOP Tour this summer. To purchase tickets and for more information,
