Eight sailors assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group attempted suicide during the group’s lengthy deployment supporting military operations linked to the conflict with Iran, according to a letter from Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao. The information was provided to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand after she asked questions about the well-being of sailors serving aboard the carrier and its supporting ships, military.com reported.
