And yet again, the international impact of Black music and culture proves its dominance around the world. The song driving a new international explosion is Nut Till U Cry by Mrpoppa85 from his Back Beaters University imprint. Now, the first time I heard the viral audio clip, it was on some thirst trap *ish that came across my timeline, and I’m an alive, functional human male…anyway, since we just came out of Black history month, I wanted to see if what I was seeing on social media would portend a serious entry in the visual space using the joint. It didn’t take long to find a high-end production value international visual using the song on YouTube.
Back Beaters University – ArtworkI’m certain you may have run into this song somewhere LOL
The big deal in my point of view is NOT the song and who it’s by, it’s the continued dominance of a culture that the home team wants to declare as inconsequential, in every sense, from wiping out history, removing museum exhibits, and the history of our military and civic leaders who’ve served under the American flag. That pisses me off, and so, this brief blurb is to serve two purposes: 1. Celebrate the artist and their success; and 2. Shove our collective global acceptance and impact as far down these fools’ throats as possible.
By the way, below is the only fully produced full-length video I found on the platform. If there are more, send them over, please!
This one comes from the MelissaIsLoud YouTube channel and is entitled: Nut Till You Cry #RainKissedFate. It’s a cinematic masterpiece, I can’t lie. The point here is, the song, released in January of this year, has swept the globe with its daring and truthful discussion of, you know…the results of doing things correctly.
