The New York Giants added a number of talented players in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Giants appear to be more talented than they were a year ago. Let’s look at a very unofficial depth chart to see what the roster looks like.

A reminder: If you are obsessing about whether I have a player listed as first-, second- or third-team, you are missing the point of the exercise. It is unofficial, and simply meant to show what the depth at each position looks like right now.

  • I look at the list of wide receivers after the drafting of Malachi Fields in Round 3 and I wonder if there truly is room for the diminished 33-year-old version of Odell Beckham Jr. on this roster. Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin, and Fields get five spots. Gunner Olszewski probably gets a sixth. There are good arguments for several guys currently on the roster to get a seventh spot should the Giants keep that many. My opinion doesn’t matter. John Harbaugh’s does. I am just not sure where Beckham fits.
  • I keep receiving optimistic e-mails to the Big Blue View Mailbag about Evan Neal. Tell me how he makes the roster when you look at the players on the chart above — unless there are a rash of injuries.

  • The defensive tackle depth chart needs to change. And will change, something that head coach John Harbaugh hinted at after the draft. Maybe as early as Monday afternoon. By the way, it is unfair to look at sixth-round pick Bobby Jamison-Travis as a replacement for Dexter Lawrence. He seems like more of a replacement for D.J. Davidson, a former fifth-round pick and rotational player. Besides, no single player is going to replace Lawrence. That needs to be a team effort.
  • I did not list Colton Hood as a starter at cornerback, but I do believe he ends up earning a starting role. The Giants believe Hood is a first-round talent and were surprised he was available at pick No. 37.

  • The placekicker situation is interesting. Ben Sauls did a nice job at the end of last season and could kick in the NFL for a long time if he gets the opportunity. Jason Sanders has been a quality kicker with a big leg for a. number of years, but missed the 2025 season with a hip injury. Is he still the kicker he used to be? If so, my guess is he wins the job. The Giants also reported signed former Michigan kicker Dominic Zvada as an undrafted free agent.
