Penny-sized hail forecast with thunderstorms to hit Southwest Alabama Wednesday – wind gusts up to 50 mph

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 5:43 p.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 6:30 p.m. for Washington, Clarke, Monroe and Baldwin counties.

The storms are expected to bring penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
