The critically acclaimed thriller, Criminal Record, is set to make its return to Apple TV for its second season, premiering on Wednesday, April 22. The character-driven crime drama stars and is executive produced by Academy Award winner Peter Capaldi and Critics’ Choice Award nominee Cush Jumbo. Season two of the gripping thriller, produced by Tod Productions and STV Studios, will premiere its first episode, “Is It Him?”, on Wednesday, April 22, followed by one new episode weekly through Wednesday, June 10. The powerful drama is set against the backdrop of contemporary London and continues to explore the complexities of policing when the truth is uncertain.
The returning ensemble reunites Capaldi as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty and Jumbo as Detective Sergeant June Lenker. Season two opens with the fatal stabbing of a young man at a political rally. This murder forces rival police officers, June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty, into an uneasy alliance. What begins as a routine hunt for a killer quickly escalates into a high-stakes undercover operation aimed at foiling a Far-Right bomb plot planned for the heart of London.
In the premiere episode, June’s search for the killer brings her back into Hegarty’s orbit, where he presents her with a proposition: Join his intelligence operation to find her man.
