Powerful Alabama Republican calls Ivey’s prisons plan a ‘total chaotic mess’

Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter, R-Rainsville, sent a letter to Gov. Kay Ivey Thursday criticizing her administration’s handling of two new prisons that are projected to cost over $1 billion.

Ledbetter describes his frustrations with Ivey’s administration and says that an investigation should be made into the Governor Kay Ivey Complex in Elmore County while construction should pause on a separate facility being built in Escambia County.
