You know things are not going in the direction you proposed when one of the architects of “F Them Picks” is pushing back on the idea of trading away even more NFL draft picks in future years. Whether the Cleveland Browns proposed the idea because owner Jimmy Haslam really wants to get QB Arch Manning or because the team is open to trading DE Myles Garrett, no matter what GM Andrew Berry says, the idea is a bold one.

Right now, the NFL rules limit teams from trading picks more than three years out. The Browns proposal would, for example, allow the Philadelphia Eagles to send first-round picks in 2027, 2029, and 2031 to acquire Garrett.

If Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay is to be believed, the proposal is also not going to happen… not even close, in fact:

McVay notes that Berry’s reasoning was sound, but doesn’t give a clear reason, in the clip above or the full video podcast, about why it won’t get passed.

Shortly after McVay said that, Cleveland withdrew their proposal:

Sources: The Browns withdrew their rules change proposal that would have allowed teams to trade draft picks up to five years in advance rather than the current three.

Why do you think McVay says there is 0% chance of the five-year proposal passing?
