Rape suspect shoots and kills himself as SWAT prepares to make arrest, sheriff says

A rape suspect fatally shot himself in the head as SWAT officers prepared to arrest him, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

No deputies were injured.
